Big Finish The Tenth Doctor Adventures Volume 01

Available to order from www.bigfinish.com

This brand new set contains the three “vanilla” discs (ie without the extras from the Limited Edition set) from the previous releases

‘Hearing David Tennant and Catherine back together is such a thrill, and fans of the dynamic duo will be celebrating for some time to come… The Doctor and Donna have never sounded so good. An absolute must.’ – Metro

1.1 Technophobia by Matt Fitton

When the Doctor and Donna visit London’s Technology Museum for a glimpse into the future, things don’t go to plan.

The most brilliant IT brain in the country can’t use her computer. More worrying, the exhibits are attacking the visitors, while outside, people seem to be losing control of the technology that runs their lives.

Is it all down to simple human stupidity, or is something more sinister going on?

Beneath the streets, the Koggnossenti are waiting. For all of London to fall prey to technophobia…

1.2 Time Reaver by Jenny T Colgan

Calibris. The spaceport planet where anything goes. Where anyone who doesn’t want to be found can be lost, and where everything has its price. Where betentacled gangster Gully holds sway at the smugglers’ tavern, Vagabond’s Reach.

The alien Vacintians are trying to impose some order on the chaos. Soon the Doctor and Donna discover why. An illegal weapon is loose on the streets. A weapon that destroys lives… Slowly and agonisingly.

1.3 Death and the Queen by James Goss

Donna Noble has never been lucky in love.

So when, one day, her Prince does come, she is thrilled to have the wedding of all weddings to look forward to. Though the Doctor isn’t holding his breath for an invitation. And her future mother-in-law is certainly not amused.

But on the big day itself, Donna finds her castle under siege from the darkest of forces, marching at the head of a skeleton army.

When it looks like even the Doctor can’t save the day, what will Queen Donna do to save her people from Death itself?

Will this be laid out the same way as the Hurt/other 3 audio boxsets?

To be honest, I don’t think anyone really knows until people start getting them. If you look in the technical details it says it’s different. It could be like the 2nd Doctor Boxset which was the cases all joined together, but this time with a slip case as well.

Hopefully it’s just the three separate release CDs with a slipcase over them.

Wish it was £23 like the other main boxsets (Eighth Doctor Time War, Classic Doctors New Monsters). £30 is a push for less extras, bundle is just as good imo. But nice to have the outer sleeve, so considering getting this (I missed the original release)

Sorry but what is the point of re-releasing this again so soon?

Rumour has it the second volume will be the 10th doctor after he left Donna on earth and traveled alone, meeting River song for the second time. Hopefully it’ll be true, I’d love to see (hear) them back together again.

      Where did you find this?

I hope not. It’ll be a cop out if they just throw River into the next set. I either want more Donna, Martha ones or maybe a new or expanded universe companion.

I want volune two to have no companions and feature jago and litefoot in the stories instead.

I don’t know, it’s more than hinted in The Time of Angels that from the Doctor’s point of view he has already met River more than once. This would be a good opportunity to explore that early relationship. I agree that many of River’s recent Big Finish outings with the 8th Doctor, whilst enjoyable, don’t add much to the relationship because she has to keep her identity a secret. Putting her opposite the Tenth Doctor, however, would add something.

Its cool they are re releasing it. Altough its strange it still £30 as the limited edition one came with 2 extra discs and also doubled as a book. They should charge a bit less really.

The limited edition was £40 (£30 on Download) and this one is obviously £30 and £25 on Download. I think it’s actually cheaper to get this box set than buy them all separately.
