Big Finish The Eighth Doctor – The Time War 3

Available to order from www.bigfinish.com

The Time War rages through space and time – two powerful enemies in a fight to the death. The Doctor keeps to the fringes of the conflict, helping where he can. He is not a warrior. Not yet. But this war takes no prisoners, and friends and enemies are drawing the Doctor ever closer to his destiny…

3.1 State of Bliss by Matt Fitton

Bliss has lost her home, her family, and her friends – an orphan of the Time War. The Doctor attempts to find out where things went wrong. Across a multiverse of possibilities, Bliss discovers the many paths her life could have taken – but do they always lead to the Time War?

And if Bliss can save her past, will she destroy her future – and the Doctor’s?

3.2 The Famished Lands by Lisa McMullin

Trying to make a difference far from the front lines, the Doctor and Bliss arrive in the Vale of Iptheus, where the Time War is starving populations out of existence.

The inhabitants have taken matters into their own hands – but are now on course for something worse. Bliss discovers exactly how the robot Enablers are helping the people, while the Doctor uncovers a terrifying secret…

3.3 Fugitive in Time by Roland Moore

Returning a favour for Major Tamasan, the Doctor and Bliss accompany her to extract a dangerous fugitive from an isolated medieval world.

Shonnath is the last of her kind and has her reasons to be wary of Time Lords. What’s more, the Daleks are also on her trail – and when the Doctor and friends arrive, the enemy is already closer than they think.

3.4 The War Valeyard by John Dorney

The Valeyard has returned to the universe amid the Time War – and the Time Lords see his potential to end the conflict for good.

When the Doctor discovers that his twisted future self has been conscripted, he sets out with Bliss to find him, braving a planet ravaged by Daleks.

But in a world where he can finally be a hero, will the Valeyard want to leave?

Originally they had consistent logos until the Daleks altered the timelines to affect the designers’ ideas midway through the range…

Does no think it’s been such a waste that the tv series never does this amount of fan service. I mean Micheal Jayson is still alive. Use him before it’s too late. This is me just expressing such sadness that Stephen Throne never got his big chance to return as Omega. Tv Needs to do this stuff more. I swear it’s gonna be too late since big finish are basically using every good character and making all the spin offs the bbc could do

Stephen Thorne was Omega again in Gallifrey: Intervention Earth.

If Big Finish already fill that niche then why should the TV show do it? Surely it should be the BBC’s responsibility to fuel new ideas that others can pick up rather than just go over the same old stuff over and over?

I know. I was talking about how he never got his big TV return.

I wonder if we’ll get a Valeyard Boxset seeing as Big Finish are referring to him as the War Valeyard.

They are the same. The Time War makes you remember them differently.

    Happy to help…

Looks good however I think we’re just going to have to accept that consistency in cover design has gone out of the window with Big Finish. I completely get the change to the new Doctor Who logo and actually quite like it but here they’ve changed the “Time War” logo for no apparent reason… just a little thing that kinda grinds my gears even tho it really shouldn’t but it’s be nice to have a bit of consistency. Nevertheless still looks like a good set of stories

Didn’t it used to be “The Time War” too, not just “Time War”? I don’t mind really though, I like the mixture and variety. Only the Dark Eyes sets annoy me in terms of inconsistency as there’s a different shading to the logo in, like, every one and the third one has a truly dreadful cover-it’s quite embarrassing really.

In a way it is still consistency just in a different way. The Time War logo they have used for this set is the same one used on the Gallifrey Time War sets so they might be trying to use the same logo across ranges instead of having 2 Time War logos

Actually I quite like this one! It does mean that all 3 volumes will look different though. But I didn’t like the Time War font on volumes 1&2.
LOVE the 8th Doctor Time War series so far!!

Thats a thought Mjs all three sets look different so that makes them consistent in being inconsistent.
