I’m surprised they haven’t used them yet, the Doctor has already met them several times at the time of School Reunion.

The paternoster gang is as a CBBC spin-off waiting to happen if ever there was one

If that does happen, I’d rather it be more adult, sort of like Ripper street with Aliens.

Even though I loved Class and thought it was brilliant, Class would’ve been more successful if Charlie and Miss Quill had appeared in Doctor Who before hand. Or they brought back someone from the classic era to star in the series like Ian and Barbra, Susan or Ace. And instead of having the Shadow Kin in episode 4 & 5 (as they were already in episodes 1 & 8), they should’ve brought back a Doctor Who monster like The Sycorax. And as the same actor who played The Shopkeeper in SJA played the governor person in the last episode, they could’ve connected the two and for us to of found out who he was. And also the name of the show didn’t really help either, and most of the fanbase didn’t give it a chance because it wasn’t Torchwood Series 5.

Its a shame michelle ryan came so late into the tennant era, Her character had potential an is why i would have preferred to have seen her on a few screen adventures with the 10th, same applies to jenny. There are many that Big Finish have put out there that they shouldn,t have bothered with. All those nearly companions of which some were better than ones we ended up with. perkins for example would have been good for a few adventures.

Big finish have put an image of the cover on their instagram account, might still not be final though

Anyway, it reveals the identity of two returning cross-over monsters.

This actually sounds like a good idea. I wonder whether it will be set in 2010, following ‘Planet of the Dead’ or in the present day (in line with their UNIT series). Either way, Sylvia will be post-‘Journey’s End’ which I think would be interesting to explore.

I am really excited for this!! I love her. Honestly but… they are releasing too much too quickly! I mean what about fans that are interested in most thinks I need:

    Torchwood Aliens Among Us 3
    Torchwood One machines
    Torchwood believe
    Torchwood series 4 monthly
    Gallifrey Time War
    10th Doctor Vol 2
    The Tales Of New Earth
    The Tenth Doctor Chronicles
    UNIT 6: Cyber Reality
    UNIT 7
    UNIT 8
    Jenny
    Lady Christina
    8th Doctor Time War 2
    8th Doctor Time War 3
    8th Doctor Time War 4
    8th Doctor Ravenous
    3rd doctor Adventures 4
    The First Doctor Adventures 2
    The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles
    Diary of River Song 4
    Diary of River Song 5

Plus the things that have come out in the past like:

    Bernice Summerfield Box Sets
    Gallifrey 1-8

    Just to name a few!

I am only saying all this to prove a point. They need to slow down. It doesn’t help when they are also sooo expensive!
Sorry for the rant but I needed to say this.

Just focus on the ranges you like. You don’t have to buy them all. I was spending near enough an 100 quid a month before I had to stop. Now I just wait till I see sales of things I like or preorder things that take my interest

I stopped buying big finish in 2012 and haven’t regretted it at all. I’ve found myself enjoying the dvds more because I’m not spending half my life trying to catch up with all the cds. For me all the audio stories were just diluting my enjoyment of who. For indtance, when you have hundreds of say, 5th doctor stories to choose from, how do you pick one to watch/listen to! Less is definitely more for me. I also feel that they are relying on bringing back old characters too much now. Still, people like them and that’s great. As Gordon says, pick and choose the ones you really want.

I don’t think it’s so much that they’re running out of ideas, it’s more that they can’t get the actors they need for the “good” ideas, so are instead making use of the New Who part of the license by expanding on characters they are able to use.

Great idea for a spin-off set. Lady Christina de Souza was such an interesting character in Planet of the Dead, so I can’t wait to see what they do with her!

Yeah. Big Finish has really gone to town on spin-offs. Jenny, River, the Churchill years, UNIT, War Master, Tales from New Earth, this. I can only wonder what will come next, CyberBrig chronicles? Chloe Webber: alien hunter? Tales of Clive?

I love Big Finish, but man, they really need to tone down the rate of these spin-offs, cause they are coming out of their ears at this point.

I think there’s still plenty yet they could do. A few ideas:

Mysteries of Paternoster Row (Paternoster Gang)
The Other Doctor: Victorian Values (Jackson Lake and Rosita)
Flat Share (Sitcom series with Craig Owens and Sophie)
      The Chronicles of Nardole
      The Masquerades of Missy

Feels like they are milking the brand for all they can get out of it. Most big finish story are good to excellent, but are they really this desperate for sales, losing it uniqueness of what doctor who is, churning out any old stuff.

So that would be a series about Clive collecting cuttings then… think about it… he didn’t have any solid concrete evidence to give rose. Hey though you could end every story with, “well that’s file filled”

It Takes a Thief is written by John Dorney, not Matt Fitton. It’s an error on the page, but the news story makes it clear.
