2.2 Now You Know… by Tim Leng

Following a series of freak attacks on staff and pupils, Tanya and Matteusz find themselves investigating a mystery that dates back to the 1960s. Together, they hope to solve it – even if that means turning on one another to do so…

Big Finish Class is set throughout Series 1 and so therefore the audio adventures happen at different points in time. I don’t think you’d need Volume 1 to understand Volume 2 to be honest with you. I think these adventures are very much standalone stories with the main story ark being what was shown on TV.

It was a creative choice to leave the series on a cliff hanger when they didn’t know if a second season was even going to get commissioned. It’s a shame they didn’t just do the season resolve and park the characters ready for more adventures should that happen.
Until now have had no interest in a rewatch as it’s left open and there’s no conclusion coming, and that has probably dented dvd sales too.
Tbh I just don’t think the BBC knew what to do with it. It needed better scheduling, more promotion and clear identity. Even the name Class seemed completely disconnected with the whole Who brand.
I hope Big Finish get to put their own polish on it and continue the ongoing story, by maybe getting Benny in as a new teacher. It needed some more ongoing connection to Who, and I mean something other than Capaldi’s show stealing appearance in the first episode.

Well it hasn’t even been three years yet, only half of that.

The fact that they haven’t opted to cover what happens after THAT cliffhanger to me kind of indicates that there is a chance there could be a second televised series.

It is coming on Netflix this Sunday and I think this will be our final hope as they are probably doing this because most young people only watch Netflix.

Well it’s not being done by Patrick Ness as he’s said he’s done with Class, also this isn’t America
No show is gonna come back 3 years after it aired also it would have to do beyond extremely well on Netflix

It isn’t coming back to TV. If it was, they would have announced it by now. Big Finish is the best you are going to get. Even when it gets on Netflix, I highly, highly doubt it’ll actually get popular. That might just be my bias though, as I disliked the Series and didn’t watch more after episode 1, but then again, it seems many people agreed with me and thought it wasn’t very good.

Let us not forget, Big Finish’s Torchwood range also was set within the time of the TV series to test the waters before they went ahead and did Series 5. I’d guess they are doing something similar here.

I think its a shame Patrick Ness always said he would resolve the cliff hanger even via a book if the show was cancelled and then walked away for whatever reason

It could be that they are waiting for Patrick Ness to become available to take part in the creative process (we know he didn’t want to do another TV series, but perhaps as an audio series lovingly made by Big Finish’s talents he wants to be involved, at least in a similar capacity to how RTD influences the path of the Torchwood series)?

i think he said he would never write for class again on twitter

Maybe he has a plot outline for it, but wants to ensure the future of Class is in safe hands first?

he is off twitter now but this what he said

I decided awhile back that, with unbelievable regret, I won’t be writing any more Class, even if a season 2 moves ahead

I really hope they have The Weeping Angels in a future box set so they can resolve the cliffhanger at the end of the tv series

500 copies. Very apt considering the amount of people who actually watched the show

More people are watching Classic Who on twitch than watched Class
