It’s London, 1828, and the father-and-son team of Marc and Isambard Kingdom Brunel are masterminding a dangerous project – the digging of the Thames Tunnel. There’s just one problem…

The Brunels’ tunnel is haunted. Every night, a spectral blue lady walks the excavation.

Now, the 22-year-old Isambard, eager to step out of his famous father’s shadow, finds himself dealing with not only the supposed supernatural, but a second unexpected guest – a colourful trespasser who calls himself ‘The Doctor’.

I remember collecting the target books. The logo on those changed every time they renewed the tv logo. It never bothered me.

      Targets are stand alone stories
Like an unearthly child novel is in a different canon the Daleks novels

No it isn’t. The target novels were one range. No different to big finishes range.

The target novels were the first range of who merchandise. They are one set of books.

(Yes, I know, They have changed it before)

I agree, let’s hope the spine doesn’t change to muck things up!

The spines have changed before too so there’s no reason to think they’ll stay the same now. Can’t see that now is any worse time for changing the logo than any other time. Especially since the old logo stuck around long past being outdated.

      The spine has no logo
Also The McGann logo is the last logo of classic who before new who
So it isn’t outdated and hasn’t been replaced in logos
New who has its own separate line in logo

I completely detest them changing the cover and logo, it will really date it when the logo changes in a few years

I think that’s the point of the reversible cover? If you’re worried about that, you can use the era-specific covers for all of the releases. The McGann-style logo changed enough anyway, I think the logo on the 2013 (?) releases can all be dated by their use of the Hartnell titles sequence texture they used around the anniversary time.

The changing logo really doesn’t bother me. I’ve collected who merchandise for 40 years and in that time there have been many logos. As for it dating the merchandise isn’t that rather the point of a logo?

The last logo lasted eight years. If BF had started using it in 2010, rather than keeping the 1996 one, something like 60% of all DW branded BF releases that exist would have it. No reason to think the 2018 logo won’t last as long.

All merchandise is dated somehow anyway. Why are people so afraid of being aware what year something was produced?

I know its a little thing but I really hope the spine doesn’t change cos it will make my collection look messy haha! Don’t ask, its a little thing. I just have every realease from 169-237, cos the spines are the same.

Didn’t they have them before? I’ve got them on the CDs I own (which I admit aren’t many)

Glad they’re going back to the original style of cover, was never really a fan of the sidebar taking up space.

I have to admit, I’m really warming to the uniformity of releases now.

I agree – working in the rail industry, Brunel is a legend. This will hopefully be worth tuning in for.
