Third Doctor & Tardis Set

  • Third Doctor as seen in The Time Monster
  • Tardis (Non Electronic) with black base

The Tardis can travel to any point in space and time and is bigger on the inside then the outside due to trans-dimensional engineering – a key Timelord discovery.

It has a library, swimming pool, a large boot room, an enormous chamber jammed with clothes and many more nooks and crannies just waiting to be discovered.

Just like The Doctor The Tardis tends to stand out a bit.

Its exterior should blend in with it’s surroundings, conforming to a new environment within a moment of arriving there, but this handy facility was lost years ago when it’s chameleon circuit developed a fault.

Since then, except for a brief period of somewhat random metamorphoses the Tardis has retained the outer appearance of a British Police Box.

There’s a sneaking suspicion that the Doctor could fix the fault if he wanted to, but he chooses not to tinker because he likes the old girl looks.

i,d buy for the TARDIS alone. This is the same outfit for pertwee included in the 12 doctors set as far as i know.

      May 14th, 2018 - 8:42pm

it has a cravat instead of bow tie, compromise but variant none the less

    May 14th, 2018 - 7:37pm

Oh joy. I could say this for all the box sets.

stunning. brilliant. …slightly speechless, that some of this has A ; appeared at all, and B ; its B & M . As this are exclusves with repaints and new outfits. they will be more expensive than the 14.99 for the last lot. under 20 and they are a bargain.

How much will each of these sets cost? I must pick them up!

Only ever got the 11th Doctor TARDIS, always wanted to have more versions for my classic Doctors!

I think the black base comes from Spearhead from Space as seen in this link. However, I am sure that the TARDIS was placed on a pallet wrapped in black plastic and it’s not actually the base. I will have to re watch.

Quick question, Is this item bigger on the inside?

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 6:33pm

well the packaging it comes in is smaller than the Tardis itself

  • Anonymous

    May 14th, 2018 - 5:47pm

    Looking forward for it

  • Ian

    May 14th, 2018 - 5:45pm

I know I always go on about accuracy. But this is good enough for me. Now I’ll have a fairly accurate Tardiss’ for every Doctor.

    May 14th, 2018 - 4:50pm

    what’s the price for this?

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 5:05pm

no prices yet, we should know nearer the release date

Best news since last year’s B&M wave.

  • Mark Belsom

    May 14th, 2018 - 4:08pm

Does this mean we may get other Tardis sets ? Really hope so.

    • The Outcast

      May 14th, 2018 - 4:14pm

We are getting a 13th Doctor Electronic TARDIS, so your hopes are going to come true.

Source: a while back a toy distributor had it, a new 13th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver and a 13th Doctor 10-inch Doll listed on their website.

    • Tom Baker Plush

      May 14th, 2018 - 9:17pm

A lot of people assumed it meant a 10-inch doll, but I see that being really unlikely. Never was ‘inch’ mentioned so I think it’s more likely that these are 5.5″ figures being supplied in cases of 10 to stores

    What a release!!

I know the Purists will pick me up on this, citing with all the small variations in exterior design that occurred over the years, but this release means we have every basic TARDIS exterior design except the TV Move TARDIS (and I suppose the War Doctor TARDIS, but that is basically the 2005 TARDIS with scuff marks).

Other sets are cool too, but this is the big one!

    • Ian

      May 14th, 2018 - 10:16pm

Oh yes! I often site accuracy but this will do me nicely. Can now give my other 4th Tardis to the second Doctor.

  • David

    May 14th, 2018 - 3:36pm

I get the B&M sets are variants / rereleases but I don’t see why they feel the need to have a black floor variant (whether it’s accurate or not).

The classic TARDIS is so rare and would surely sell just as well even if it were an exact rerelease of before…

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:59pm

it wouldn’t sell half as well because those who already have it probably would not buy this set but now virtually everyone will – makes perfect scenes to have a variant

    • TigerMan1995

      May 14th, 2018 - 5:33pm

The black base is accurate to at least Terror of the Autons, not Time Monster but hey it was a cool one off at the time.

  • Exterminator

    May 14th, 2018 - 3:33pm

Oh wow, now this is an unexpected surprise. I can’t wait to get this one.

  • Ian

    May 14th, 2018 - 3:30pm

    Can’t wait!

  • Nicholas Dickens

    May 14th, 2018 - 3:27pm

Good grief! This is amazing! I love it. I think all the B&M stuff is amazing. I love them all!

    • Ian

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:31pm

      Yes all fab

  • Grant

    May 14th, 2018 - 3:20pm

Really excited for this. Hopefully they could do most of the other Doctors with Tardis’s using the same molds. Really they could do 2nd, 5th and 6th now with just slight repaints. I think an 8th one will be far off if ever and won’t be B&M due to retooling

  • The Werewolf

    May 14th, 2018 - 3:15pm

    This is a surprise

  • William Shadow

    May 14th, 2018 - 1:53pm

Third doctor didn’t have a bow tie or cravat in the episode. Why not use the body of the fourth doctor regenerated figure and re paint it. Why is the bottom/ base of the TARDIS black!?

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 1:54pm

already been said it was black in some episodes

different tooling blocks for the figure most likely not cost effective

    • Lior Knight

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:32pm

What is odd that the first “bad” image actually had the Regen 4th body repainted while this one isn’t.

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:36pm

probably because they used existing figures to kit bash but then the tooling may not allow that actual production within budget

    • Lior Knight

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:39pm

Any chance it could be other way around? Wonder as they did retool Baker head to fit Pertwee body for the other set.

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:52pm

i think what you see now is what you will get, any retooling would make the price of these sets non-viable

  • Kevin Bunker

    May 14th, 2018 - 1:12pm

    I want that TARDIS!!! 🙂

    • The Outcast

      May 14th, 2018 - 1:52pm

      Me too!

    • Kevin Bunker

      May 14th, 2018 - 2:44pm

The new picture looks even better, I’ll be off to B&M tomorrow to hopefully get one. 🙂

    • Kevin Bunker

      May 14th, 2018 - 2:45pm

Oh, no I won’t…, die late summer. lol

*due (iPhone corrects me even when I correct it back).

  • KORSAIR

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:58pm

Oh nice I’ll be getting one of these.

  • Anonymous

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:32pm

Very excitiing releases – just a shame its B&M, the budget store who think online ordering is a form of witchcraft.

Those of us who live no where nearer a B&M store will end up paying silly proces on ebay.

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:57pm

their (successful) business model relies on getting people in-stores, just the way it is

    • Anonymous

      May 14th, 2018 - 1:09pm

Do you know if they at least allow you to call and reserve items?

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 1:10pm

yes they usually will, just use the option to speak to CS

    • Grant

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:17pm

You may not be able to reserve. Im not sure, but I used to call B&M for stock checks on various things, but now due to the amount of calls they get they said they no longer do stock checking and you just have to go to the store

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:21pm

there is a message saying that but you can still speak to them and ask, at least you could last year

    • Anonymous

      May 14th, 2018 - 3:53pm

Cheers – I so hope I can get these. I can’t remember the last time I was this excitied. Especially for this set.

    • Garry Jones

      May 14th, 2018 - 5:14pm

This is one reason why it is good to live in Port Talbot, we have 2 large b&m stores in the town so hopefully should be able to get my hands on these when they become available!

  • Christopher

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:31pm

This is the best news I’ve had all day!

  • James Woods

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:20pm

Any word on whether the TARDIS is electronic or not?

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:22pm

      not off hand

    • The Outcast

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:28pm

Presumably it’ll be Electronic though. I mean, the non-electronic TARDISes never make sense to me because they still have all the battery compartment.

    • The Doctor

      May 14th, 2018 - 4:15pm

My instinct would be that it wont be – Due to this being a B&M product they tend to keep the prices down. Cutting out the lights and sounds seems like it would be a good way to keep costs down on their end.

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 4:18pm

the Tardis is non electronic for the reasons you mention

  • TARDISGuy

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:19pm

Cool set. Another Pertwee variant (ninth as far as I know) and an unexpected repaint of the Baker TARDIS. Really excited for this one.

  • William Shadow

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:12pm

We should have gotten the eighth doctor & TARDIS set first.

    • The Outcast

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:30pm

That one would need a new door sign though. And probably a new light. Then again, this TARDIS, the 1st Doctor and 4th Doctor TARDISes all should have a different light, but…

  • William Shadow

    May 14th, 2018 - 12:00pm

The TARDIS is inaccurate the base should not be black and the pull to open sign should be black with white lettering. The lamp is also wrong.

    • Grant

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:03pm

Their just prototypes at the minute so it might change. The classic Tardis figures have always been innacurate though so we’ll see

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:07pm

sadly, i think people are expecting far to much from these “Budget” sets

your not going to get expensive re-tooling

    • Anonymous

      May 14th, 2018 - 12:12pm

The base actually was black in some stories so that’s what they’re going for

  • 6sek

    May 14th, 2018 - 11:45am

    How much will it cost?

    • booboo

      May 14th, 2018 - 11:49am

      no idea yet

  • The Outcast

    May 14th, 2018 - 11:44am

    WAIT THERES MORE:
This is a must buy for me, as I don’t have the 4th Doctor and TARDIS set. The 3rd Doctor variant is cool though, though I don’t know which story it is from by memory. Maybe Mind of Evil?

    • BOOPY BOOP

      May 14th, 2018 - 1:05pm

      Time Monster

    • Geeksville

      May 14th, 2018 - 1:10pm
